Notifications provide users with important information about events in the system. Notifications are sent in-app (default) and can also be sent via email (if enabled).
The following table provides a list of the current notifications sent by Canopy:

| Comments | Any user who has access to the object, except the user who created the comment | All comments are supported (i.e. findings, reports and so on) |
| File imports | Any user assigned to the phase/project | The file import notifies users of failed and successful imports. |
| Report generation | The user who requested the report generation | The report generation notifies users of failed and successful generation. |
| Report review state changes | Users involved in the review process of a report | A number of notifications are sent:

| New KB | KB managers | When a user pushes a new KB item from a project's phase, or when a KB manager adds a KB entry manually, all KB managers are updated. |
| Company deletion | Administrators | The administrator is sent a notification to inform them that a company should be deleted. As this is a destructive process, it requires admin oversight. |
